The Ravenclaws sat down and chatted about the things that they have read and books and the gossips that they heard from all over as they went about eating their food.
Away from the larger group was the young Ravenclaw girl, long black hair, rosy white skin and the serenity and the seriousness that her face expressed these past few weeks. Hwayoung had been used to eating alone ever since but it never really bothered her. The solitude had made a refuge for her feelings and she’d like to keep it that way until the end of the year.
Beside her plate of waffles laid parchments filled with notes and books that were half-read. The food didn’t even had a single bite but her ink bottle is already half-empty.
Just like me, they long to be.. close to you.
Fourth and Final
She stood still, her eyes moving from one thing to another.
There are two beds, one belonging to her and the other to a younger room mate, much like a sister she never had. Two desks, one being full of bottles of ink, rolls of parchment and books while the other laid empty. Since then, she never left this room eventhough it’s not hers to begin with. She was so accustomed to this place that just thinking of transferring to the fifth year dorms is already hurting her.
She closed her eyes and bit and her lower lip.
She grew up in this room and there’s no way that she’s leaving.
Too Much
She was once again accompanied by a sky full of stars and the cold winds of the deepening night.
The silence was only disturbed by the sobs and the sniffs that came from the curled up figure at the edge of the Astronomy tower.
Hwayoung was rarely seen crying, because the truth is she has always been unbowed, unbent and unbroken. It was not an excuse for a moment of weakness though and it was this very moment.
She buried her face in her crossed arms that were sitting over her knees. Her head was bowed down, her hair falling to the sides of her face and it was enough to conceal her features.
Her weak whimpers echoed throughout the silence. She have finally permitted herself to break.
I’ll Draw the Stars For You
It has been a very long time.
She found herself, once again, staring at the intricately illustrated star map that she had been working on since the start of the year. Still, it was left undone, with a few hundred more stars missing and constellations that are yet to be drawn. The illustrations around the northern hemisphere is almost complete, with the four winds and the gods circling around the sky.
She took out a pencil from the tin case then leaned down. With careful strokes, she started working on it again. After a very long time.
The Astronomy Tower laid watch on her silent toil.
